Citrix Receiver on the Apple iPad

Harry Labana, Chief Technology Officer at Citrix said “We see the iPad as a device that users can just carry around with them for collaboration. Citrix has done things to make the user interface gesture-friendly to users. We\’re seeing an unusual amount of interest for Receiver on this device”.

Large organisations including the National Health Service (NHS) are reportedly interested in the iPad due to the device’s long battery life (it has been reported that users will be able to operate the iPad for up to 10 hours before recharging) and remote access capabilities. Many organisations like the idea of remote access as sensitive information can be held in a central location controlled by the organisation rather than stored on the individual devices hard drive.
