A report into last year’s Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill recently highlighted the importance that advanced IT can have in improving safety in the Oil & Gas sector. The report said that better algorithmic software would have played a key role in preventing the disaster, which was one of the worst in the country’s history and led to a backlash on companies who undertake deep sea offshore drilling.
