Medical Jobs: Specialist Nurse
The United Kingdom is well stocked in many areas of nursing however skill shortages still exist, particularly relating to nurses working in operating theatres, operating department practitioners and specialist nurses working in neonatal intensive care units. At Commonwealth Contractors we partner with International Consultancies and Associated Trust Partners who are desperately looking for specialist nurses and due to significant skill shortages in the UK (recognised by the UK Border Agency) are prepared, where required, to provide Tier 2 (Work Permit) Sponsorship. If you are a specialist nurse and you are interested in working in the United Kingdom call Commonwealth Contractors now on 0800 294 4388 or send a copy of your CV to us today. We will happily pass your details to interested parties. Even if you are not a specialist nurse working in an area officially considered to be in shortage we may still be able to help. We also work with organisations looking for International Nursing Professionals working at lower levels.
Professional Documentation Required
Our Consultancy and Associated Trust Partners may require some of the following documents; CV, 36+ Months Professional References, Degree Qualification, Professional Registration Documents (where applicable), CRB Check, Industry Certificates (e.g. Health & Safety, Child Protection, Fire & Safety, Risk Incident Reporting, Basic Life Support, Complaints Handling Infection Control, Handling Violence & Aggression etc). If you do not possess all of the above documents do not despair. Many of the certificates can be taken care of remotely.
Tier 2 (Work Permit) Sponsorship
Commonwealth Contractors works with a number of Tier 2 ‘A Rated’ Consultancy Partners who may be prepared where required to ‘sponsor’ an individual on a Tier 2 Visa (formerly UK Work Permit). Tier 2 Visas are normally approved for 3 years initially but may be extended for a further 2 years and time spent on them does count towards Permanent Residence (also known as Indefinite Leave to Remain). In order to qualify for a Tier 2 General Visa an individual must score 50 points for Attributes and validate the English Language (10 points) and Maintenance Requirements (10 points). Our partners may be able to cover 60 of the required 70 points in total however applicants must be able to validate the English Language requirement (see below)
English Language Ability
If you would like to work in the United Kingdom with a Consultancy or Associated Trust Partner you must be able to speak English to a satisfactory level. Conversing with patients at a satisfactory level is essential to the role.
In order to qualify against the English Language requirement of Tier 2 General you must either:
- Come from an English Speaking Country – Original Passport required
- Hold a Degree Qualification that was entirely taught in English – The qualification must be recognised by the National Academic Recognition Information Centre (NARIC)
- Possess an English Language Test Certificate – The test must be approved by the UK Border Agency (e.g. IELTS) – Original Test Certificate required
If you are a specialist nurse with good English Language skills however you do not meet the above requirements you are highly recommended to gain an IELTS or equivalent English Language test certificate.
