Current Officially Recognised Consultant Level Skill Shortages

A number of Consultant Level roles are currently officially recognised as being in shortage by the UK Border Agency. If you are a Consultant Level Doctor working in one of the following roles one of our partners will be prepared to sponsor you immediately; Audiological Medicine, Genito – Urinary Medicine, Haematology, Medical Microbiology & Virology, Neurology, Nuclear Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Occupational Medicine, Paediatric Surgery, Forensic Psychiatry, General Psychiatry, Learning Disabilities Psychiatry, Old Age Psychiatry, Radiology (in Scotland only)

However, if you work in a speciality not officially considered to be in shortage we still want to hear from you. Although our partners will recruit from within the European Economic Area first and foremost the reality is that resident recruitment drives turn up few, if any, suitably qualified professionals. Therefore you stand a very good chance of securing Tier 2 sponsorship with a ‘A Rated’ License holder.

GMC Registration and the License to Practise

In order to practise in the UK as a Doctor you must hold a GMC Registration and a License to Practise, if you do not you will not be able to work whatsoever. If you contact Commonwealth Contractors we will be able to advise you on how to go about getting registered and suitably licensed.

Professional Documentation Required

Our Consultancy and Associated Trust Partners may require some of the following documents; CV, 36+ Months Professional References, Degree Qualification, Professional Registration Documents (where applicable), CRB Check, Industry Certificates (e.g. Health & Safety, Child Protection, Fire & Safety, Risk Incident Reporting, Basic Life Support, Complaints Handling Infection Control, Handling Violence & Aggression etc). If you do not possess all of the above documents do not despair. Many of the certificates can be taken care of remotely.
