What is a UK Work Permit?
A Work Permit is an Immigration approval granted by the Border and Immigration Agency. The approved work permit allows a UK employer to recruit a named non EEA national to do a specific job where unable to find a suitable ‘resident worker’. It is important to understand that the work permit application is made by the employer and that the work permit is approved for the named worker. It is not possible for an individual to make a work permit application.
Note: From 3rd quarter 2008 (expected date) the UK Work Permit Scheme is to form Tier 2 of the Governments new points based immigration system. Full details of the new scheme will be updated as and when they are released.How can Commonwealth Contractors help?
