UK Visitor Visa

If you are planning to visit the UK & you are not a British or EU citizen you may require a visa, depending upon your nationality.

A UK visa is an authorisation applied for in advance of travel which gives you permission to enter the UK. You will need a visa if you are a ‘Visa National’ (see list of countries below) or you are applying to visit the UK in order to get married.

Visit Visa Duration

A Visit Visa may be valid for 2, 5 or 10 years; HOWEVER as a Visitor you can only stay in the United Kingdom for a maximum period of six months at any time.

A 2 year Visit Visa approval does not mean that you will be allowed to stay in the UK for 2 years. When submitting a Visit Visa application you will be asked to declare the length of time you expect to stay in the UK for. A lengthy period may cause the Immigration Office to doubt your intentions.

Many locum Doctors at Consultant grade undertake shot term assignments (max 3 months) in the UK each year. Many of these doctors are on 3 year Multiple Entry Tier 2 visas with established Healthcare Consultancies. If you are in this position and you wish to bring your family with you it may be a good idea to secure 5 year Visit Visas for your dependents.

If you are a locum Doctor Interested in working in the UK call now on 0800 294 4388 or Submit your Details & we will get right back to you.
