Skill Shortage Nurses
At present only a limited number of roles in nursing are considered to be in shortage. If you work in one of these roles you will be in demand & one of our Consultancy or Trust Partners will be interested in sponsoring you on a Tier 2 Visa (formerly UK Work Permit)!
Currently the following Nursing roles are considered to be in shortage (as of 14th December 2009):
- Specialist Nurses working in Operating Theatres
- Operating Department Practitioner
- Specialist Nurses working in Neonatal Intensive Care Units
If you do not work in one of these roles you may still be in demand, but your skills are just not considered to be in shortage in the UK.
English Language Requirement
In order to qualify against Tier 2 you must demonstrate that you speak English to an appropriate level. In order to do this you must either:
- Be a National of a majority English Speaking Country: Includes Australia, Canada, New Zealand & the United States. Original Passport required. OR
- Hold a Degree that was taught in English: The Degree must be recognised by the National Academic Recognition Information Centre (NARIC). Original Degree Certificate Required. OR
- Possess an English Language Test Certificate: The test must be approved by the UK Border Agency e.g. IELTS Test. Original Test Certificate Required
Qualifying against Tier 2 (Work Permit)
If you satisfy the English Language Requirement you may qualify for a Tier 2 visa as our ‘A Rated’ Consultancy Partners may be prepared to ensure that you meet the other requirements. You will be awarded:
- 50 Points for a Certificate of Sponsorship issued further to a Skill Shortage Occupation
- 10 Points for Maintenance certified by an ‘A Rated’ Sponsor
- 10 Points for satisfying the English Language Requirement
