Tier 1 (General) Visas are ideal for freelance IT Consultants as they allow 3 years unrestricted work initially & then a further 2 years on extension. Tier 1 Applications
In order to apply for a Tier 1 General Visa you must score 75 points from four points scoring categories (Qualifications, Age, Previous Earnings & UK Experience) & satisfy the English Language & Maintenance Requirements. IT Consulting & Tier 1 Visa Extensions

Alternatives to Tier 1
If you do not possess a Masters Qualification you will not be able to apply for a Tier 1 visa.
