The European Community Association Agreement (ECAA) is a fantastic option for many Romanian and Bulgarian professionals who wish to work and live in the UK. The work visa allows the holder to start a business of any size or business sector without the need to invest £200,000 + and create at least 2 full time jobs as is required for other nationalities coming to the UK as business owners (unless they have an HSMP visa). ECAA visa holders must be self employed or directors of their own limited company, they are not allowed to undertake any form of work outside that of their own business – ie they can not become PAYE employees of another person’s company.
